About Us

Meridian Appraisal Services, Inc. (f/k/a RealVest Appraisal Services, Inc.) was created in 1988 to provide independent third party commercial and residential appraisal services to the Central Florida market area. Meridian is currently under the ownership and direction of Robert Von, President, Kenneth J Terrell, Jr., MAI, Vice President and John H. Preston, IV, Vice President. At the end of 2019, Angela L. Brown, MAI retired as Vice President of the firm. Our staff has over 225 years of combined experience with an average of over 28 years of experience. The company has grown to be one of the premier appraisal firms in Florida. Meridian provides appraisal services to most of the major lending institutions in the Central Florida market area. Our very experienced staff, which includes three MAI’s, have prepared valuations on virtually every type of real estate. One of Meridian's specialties is multifamily housing, and Meridian has become one of the foremost experts on Affordable Tax Credit Apartments in Florida.

Meridian Appraisal Group, Inc. has as partners and employees, three individuals who hold the MAI designation of the Appraisal Institute.

To start off the new millennium, Meridian Appraisal Group, Inc. spun off their residential appraisal department and created Meridian Residential Appraisal, LLC. Meridian Residential is currently under the direction of Forbes D. “Pres” Preston, Jr., President. Meridian Residential provides appraisal services on single-family homes, one to four-unit multifamily homes in the central Florida area. Meridian Residential specializes in high-end and lake front, single-family homes in Central Florida and specifically in the Winter Park and Windermere sub-market areas.

The use of technology is becoming more critical in the appraisal industry. We use some of the latest technology available to better analyze data and provide high-quality reports in an efficient time frame. To help keep up with technology, Meridian hired an appraiser who happened to have an education and strong professional background in information technology before becoming an appraiser.  His 25 years of experience in the information technology field is a major benefit to keeping systems, templates and data processes up to date and utilizing the latest technology available.
